DEFENSE ATTORNEY CORY J. WOOD

A lifetime Washington resident, Cory J. Wood earned his J.D. from Gonzaga School of Law in 2010 and has been Of Counsel for the Law Office of Michael Frans since 2011, all the while maintaining his own criminal defense practice, The Wood Law Office. Cory Wood’s experience in the field of criminal law dates back to 2005 when he interned in a criminal defense firm, Dixon & Lee (now Lee & Associates) in Yakima.
Cory also worked for the King County Prosecutor’s Office in the Felony Filing Unit, prior to attending law school in 2007, and worked as an intern in both the Spokane and Pierce County Prosecutors’ Offices during law school.
Since 2011, Cory has helped hundreds of people with Criminal/DUI/Traffic Defense matters, Expungements and Firearm Restorations.
Cory lives in Maple Valley, spends most of his free time with his wife and three children and enjoys camping, boating and attending local sporting events. He truly has a passion for criminal defense, which can be witnessed every time he’s in court, speaking with fellow attorneys, or meeting with clients.

ATTORNEY CHRIS SIMS

Mr. Sims was born and raised in the Seattle area. He went to Evergreen High School in White Center, and then went on to Highline Community college in Des Moines, where he obtained his AA degree, graduated with honors and received in emphasis in Administrative Justice. He then went onto Central Washington University, where he earned his Bachelor degree in Criminal Justice. Mr. Sims was then accepted into the Seattle University School of Law where he obtained his Juris Doctorate-law degree. While Mr. Sims was in college he worked for his Dad’s small business, selling commercial bakery equipment and assisting with the service and installation of the equipment.
Mr. Sims is an accomplished trial lawyer, defending those accused of misdemeanor and felony crimes. Attorney Chris Sims started his criminal defense career at one of Washington States most experienced criminal defense law firms. He started out working as a public defender for clients in the cities of Kent, Lakewood, Seatac, Milton, Kirkland, Sammamish, Shoreline, and Kenmore. He is also admitted to practice in the Muckleshoot tribal court. In 2016, Mr. Sims applied and was accepted to the conflict felony public defense panels in both Pierce and King Counties. All the while growing his private case load to where he became the primary attorney for all of the firms private criminal cases.
Now, Mr. Sims has started Sims Law, PLLC where he enjoys being able to take a more personalized approach for his clients as he works to obtain the best outcomes. Mr. Sims is here to assist those charged in any criminal matter, whether it is your first offense DUI, to something more serious such as vehicular assault, vehicular homicide, to allegations related to sex offenses. These include all misdemeanor and felony charges. He is prepared and ready to help you face off against the government.
He is a compassionate and aggressive advocate for each client and enjoys guiding them through the legal process. Chris is upfront and honest. While he evaluates every case with an eye toward trial, he provides his clients with what is a realistic expectation for potential outcomes of their individual cases.
